  The Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition is hosting a scholarship contest. The agency is based in Flowood; however, the competition is open to high school students throughout the state. I hope this email finds you well! Just as the subject mentioned, UWA is running a campaign to give students from select high schools a free application!  After completing the campus application, you students will enter the discount code advantageapp22 on the payment page. Don't forget to click apply to active the code. This discount code will completely waive the $30 application fee. I encourage all of my students to apply to any school they are interested in. Submitting an application with a waived fee will give your students the opportunity to view the great things UWA has to offer all while saving money. We both know application fees can add up quickly! The deadline to submit a free application with the discount code advantageapp22 is September 30.

 

Also keep in mind my offer to visit with your students either through a virtual setting or in person. Please let me know if you're interested in setting up a visit.

Good morning, 

 The LCSD is teaming up with WTOK-TV to provide an engaging opportunity for at least one lucky sophomore, junior, or senior who is interested in the broadcast field. As part of the effort, the student chosen will be able to attend a free weeklong broadcast boot camp in July at the University of Southern Mississippi. Following the camp, WTOK will offer the student chosen opportunities to job shadow at the station. 

 Details about the initiative, along with an application form, and an announcement that can be shared with students, are saved as attachments. Please email all applications to awilliams@lauderdale.k12.ms.us by Thursday, May 27th. Applications can also be sent via courier. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

FREE SUMMER SCHOOL

Take up to 12 credit hours in face-to-face or online classes this summer for FREE.

• Who is eligible? EVERYONE! From current EMCC students, to dual-enrollment students, to transfer students, and everyone in between. 
• What's included? Tuition, fees, books, on-campus housing, and meal plans for the summer 2021 semester. Summer school students who opt to remain full-time at EMCC for the fall 2021 semester will receive up to $500.00 in a gap scholarship to cover costs associated with the fall semester.
• How to apply? Simply apply for admissions and register for summer classes. A balance will be applied to your LEO student account after you register for summer classes; however, we will credit your account back for all tuition, fees, books, on-campus housing, and meal plans for summer 2021. If you decide to enroll full-time with EMCC for the fall 2021 semester, you will automatically receive up to $500.00 applied to your student account.
